Pricing

How much does it cost to send a parcel?

Pricing depends on weight, route, and the Carrier's offer. ShipKith suggests a range when you post a Drop. Most diaspora-priced parcels save 70–90% versus traditional shipping companies.

What's the platform fee?

ShipKith adds a platform fee on top of the Carrier's price. The Sender pays it; it is not taken out of the Carrier's price. The rate follows the Carrier's Standing:

• Kith 15% · Familiar 12% · Regular 10% · Elder 9% · Pillar 8%
• When the Carrier is a verified business: Kith 10% · Familiar 9% · Regular 8% · Elder 8% · Pillar 8%

The exact fee is shown on the payment screen before you pay, and a Booking keeps the fee it was agreed at. ShipKith covers the Hub fee during beta.

Safety

What if my package goes missing?

Funds are held by our payment processor (Stripe) until delivery is confirmed. If a parcel doesn't arrive, you can open a dispute within 7 days; we work with both sides to resolve case by case.

Are Carriers vetted?

Carriers can ship without verification, but most Droppers will only accept matches with a verified government ID and a completed community membership. Standing is also visible — a "Kith" carrier has no track record yet, while an "Elder" or "Pillar" has dozens of clean trips.

Payments

When do I pay?

You pay only after a Carrier accepts your Drop. Funds are held by our payment processor (Stripe) until delivery.

When does the Carrier get paid?

Automatically, once delivery is confirmed. Payouts usually reach your bank account in 1–7 business days, depending on your bank and country.

Which payment methods are supported?

Currently cards (Stripe) for Droppers. Mobile money for Carrier payouts (USA/Canada → Cameroon corridors). More methods are added per corridor as we expand.

Account

Can I switch between Drop Mode and Carry Mode?

Yes — the same account works for both. Your trust, reviews, communities, and wallet are shared.

Can I have a business account?

Yes. Upgrade from your profile to add commercial rates, invoicing, and the Verified Business badge once your KYB is approved.
